Offer made, montary amount agreed + time allowed implies a verbal contract/acceptance. The fact that he got more for the item afterwards dosnt mean it was the sellers right to trade. Technically it was your item, and you simply owed the seller money. Rather wish people got taught this stuff in school. But all that seems doable in this scenario is to haul some abuse at the seller - for doing what most would have done given the same scenario.
